Snow Removal

Salting of the roads is initiated with the onset of hazardous and inclement weather. This is done on a priority basis depending on traffic volume and safety considerations. 

Plowing operations are initiated after X to Y inches of snow have fallen or as conditions warrant. Depending on weather conditions and information from the local weather forecasting service, snow and ice removal operations may begin sooner. The Department of Public Works strives to respond with salting and plowing as needed before the roads become slippery for vehicle travel.
